Beginning Drawing - Adults and young students over 15 years old; Thursday 3pm - 5pm, Begins Sept. 19
Open to adults and young students over twelve years old, no skills or previous experience is necessary. TuesdayandThursdays 3:00 to 5:00 PM.
This class is designed to create a solid foundation in skills for figurative drawing in a fun, exciting, and engaging way. The classes will include still life, introduction to portrait, and introduction to anatomic drawing; and will address concepts like tones, volume and proportion. The methods used will be simple, accessible, and straight forward because even the most complex artworks are built upon elemental principles that anyone can understand.
The material used for this class will be: Soft charcoal bars, moon stone Canson paper, a blackboard eraser (if possible), Bounty, or Viva paper towel, a chamois (a towel like little cloth used to erase charcoal), a blender (optional), a board to support the paper, and a spray to fix charcoal. Drawings will be periodically erased and we will only save the significant ones. Try to have two to five Canson papers available. Materials will available for purchase at the class.
