About our Studio
The Miami Art League is a unique local studio for artists looking for an intimate setting in which to do creative visual arts with or without instruction.
Our Miami Shores storefront offers an open space offering Life Drawing several times per week, class instruction several times per week and studio space open for Members of our 501C3 educational organization. Membership is a requirement and at this time is only $150 per year paid annually.
We are governed by a Board of Directors with our present Presidents Raymond Dranoff at the helm. Regular Board Meetings facilitate decision-making and action plans for the League.

Saturday - Figure Drawing/Painting with Tony Coro
Enjoy this opportunity to work with both a Model and an Instructor during this session which is appropriate for
beginning and advanced students. Working with a live model the format begins with 20 minutes of Gesture Drawings
followed by 20 minute sessions with the Model. Each 20 minute drawing session is followed by Critiques from Tony Coro to move artists further along in working with the figure.
Artists are free to work in their chosen medium - charcoal, pencil, water color, pastels, etc.
$25/session paid in advance on a monthly basis. Drop in cost $30
Tuesday - Water Media Painting Instruction with Inez Hollander
An innovative approach to acrylic and watercolor painting… Free the eye, the hand and the heart through an exploration of water based media (watercolor or acrylic paint). Discover the wonderful paintings you can create. Use watercolor, acrylic paint, crayon, ink, chalk and/or collage to expand painting skills in color, composition, and design.
Small group lessons help the student master the art of painting in water-based media. All levels of experience are welcome. Some drawing skills required. A new lesson is presented each week. Following the demonstration, the students apply the lesson to the project of their choice or a project suggested by Inez. The class concludes with a critique of the entire classes work.
Wednesday - Life Drawing
Artists work in their own chosen medium. First 20 minutes starts with gestures, then one long pose for entire session with 10 minute brake every twenty minutes. Easels and drawing boards are provided. Models are sometimes dressed and sometimes nude, as the group decides.
Thursday - Drawing and Painting with Tony Coro
In this Open Class students work on their own projects under the guidance of Tony Coro. Students work either with Drawing or Painting, depending on their interest. The class culminates with a critique of the class work.
Friday Life Drawing
Artists work in their own chosen medium. Session begins with 1 minute gestures, 5 minute gestures, then twenty minute sessions with 10 minute breaks in between. Easels and drawing boards are provided. Models are generally clothed. Longer poses are possible, as the group decides.
Enjoy this opportunity to work with both a Model and an Instructor during this session which is appropriate for

About our Instructors
We presently enjoy the instruction of:
INEZ HOLLANDER
INEZ HOLLANDER received her B.A. degree, cum laude, from the University of Miami. She also has post-graduate training at Florida International University and the University of Miami. Hollanders' 50 years of artistic experience include teaching at the Miami-Dade County Public Schools, student teaching supervision for the University of Miami, the Bass Museum School, the South Florida Art Center and special demonstrations for WLRN, the Miami Art Fair, the South Florida Art Center and the Miami Watercolor Society.
Ms. Hollander has worked with all media and exhibits nationally. Her work has been featured in American Artist Watercolor magazine and also appears in private and corporate collections. Recently her paintings have been included in the 59th ANNUAL ALL FLORIDA JURIED COMPETITION AND EXHIBITION at the Boca Raton Museum of Art 2010 and THE FLORIDA CONTEMPORARY 2011 Annual Invitational Exhibition at the Naples Museum of Art. Her work was most recently shown at Books and Books, Coral Gables, January 2012 and the Florida Jewish Museum of Florida, Miami Beach in February 2013. Both shows exhibited her new series MIAMI GRID.
TONY CORO
ANTONIO CORO has an M.F.A. from Rutgers University (Mason Gross school of the Arts) with a specialization in drawing and painting (see transcript).Mr. Coro has won the Liquitex Fine Art Award (1987), the Brendan Byrne Fellowship (Rutgers 1990), and the Pollock-Krasner Fellowship (2006).Tony exhibits in The World and Eye (Ft. Lauderdale), The Miguel Rodez Art Project (Miami), Proctors (New York).
Tony Coro teaches widely throughout Miami-Dade County and works with the Miami-Dade County School District. He exhibits nationally as well as locally. His website is orocoro.com.
